Seeking a detail oriented, efficient and organized professional for the position of Mortgage Compliance Specialist in our Lewiston office.
SU POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for the daily monitoring of compliance and
risk controls within the Mortgage Banking Division (“division”).
Manages RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and maintains a comprehensive program for compliance controls and reviews throughout the division to promote compliance with mortgage banking and related laws and regulatory matters at the federal and state level.
Recommends, develops and implements changes to existing and proposed procedures, policies and programs for the mortgage banking division.
Oversees revision, reparation and dissemination of new and updated mortgage compliance standards and procedures.
Documents controls and conducts internal self-testing to ensure compliance with all new and existing federal and state laws and regulations that govern mortgage banking.
Keeps abreast of regulatory and legal developments governing mortgage banking.
Provides advice, guidance and insight to management and staff personnel on emerging mortgage compliance issues. Consults and guides the division in the establishment of controls to mitigate the risk.
Provides assistance in the formulation of forms and disclosure documents for compliance with all policies and procedures related to the mortgage banking division.
Identifies and communicates the need for mortgage compliance education programs and provides compliance training to all division members.
Acts as point person for all internal and external compliance and risk audits and examinations of the mortgage banking division.Coordinates and prepares responses as necessary.
Work closely with the Enterprise Risk Manager and Director of Compliance in their assessment of the effectiveness of controls around compliance in the division.
Communicate identified issues or deficiencies regarding the compliance control environment to the Director of Compliance and Enterprise Risk Manager.
·Thorough knowledge of and understanding of mortgage banking regulations and related laws.
·Extensive knowledge of mortgage banking operations.
Education Requirements
·Four year college degree in a relevant field; or equivalent job experience
·8 -10 years of directly related work experience.
