In addition to excellent benefits, we try to do little things to show our employees that they are valued.

Our employee-run Employee Appreciation Committee plans events and giveaways throughout the year to show their appreciation for the hard work of our employees, including:

  • Pie truck on Thanksgiving where you can pick out a free pie
  • Pumpkins on Halloween
  • Employee appreciation dinner
  • Christmas party
  • We also have an annual Giving Campaign where employees compete in fun activities to raise money for charities, including a pumpkin carving contest and a chili cookoff

Martin's Point is a different kind of health care company. What makes us different is that we're led by a physician - our president, David Howes, MD - and we're a not-for-profit organization. This allows us to focus on what's important, which is helping people live healthy lives.

Through our health plans and Primary Care practices, we have been serving communities in Maine and throughout northern New England for more than 25 years. We are based in Portland, Maine, and currently care for more than 90,000 patients and members.

Why are we called Martin's Point? We're named after the site on Veranda Street in Portland where the company began, and where our Portland Health Care Center is still located. This area, where the land juts out into Casco Bay, was named after Richard Martin, one of Portland's earliest settlers.
