In this role, you will:

  • Directly supervises clinical and administrative staff within the department
  • Evaluate workloads, patient flow and efficiencies and collaborates with Practice Manager on improvements
  • Act as first line resource for staff and physicians
  • Foster intradepartmental support and collaboration
  • Act as second line resource for IT issues
  • Authorize physician schedule changes
  • Champion organizational quality care initiatives
  • Facilitate first line patient complaints with resolution and documentation
  • Distribute practice management reports as directed by Department Chief and Practice Manager
  • Coordinate and/or monitor staffing hours and payroll records to minimize overtime while maintaining adequate staffing levels

What’s required to do this?

  • Three Years Hospital Nursing and/or Urgent Care experiencepreferred
  • Emergency Severity Index (ESI-5) Triage Competency and Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) knowledge
  • BLS
  • I.V. and Phlebotomy Competent
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Successful completion of RN program; BSN preferred
  • Unencumbered Maine RN license
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a clinical setting preferred
