The Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach assists the head coach during competitive lacrosse practices and games. This position is responsible for assisting with practice design, development and implementation to help prepare student-athletes for competition. Assist the head coach in recruiting highly skilled players. Provides assistance with ensuring departmental compliance with NCAA guidelines. Works with numerous departments within athletics to help promote and support the student-athletes. Supports the public relations initiatives of the department while maintaining positive relationships with alumni, students and parents. Encourage community involvement and promote pride in the college.
This is a professional assistant coaching position and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NESCAC Conference and the College.
This is a half-time position working about 30 hours per week during the academic year. The assistant coach may need to work more hours in-season.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of (3) three-year lacrosse coaching and\/or playing experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Solid understanding of player development.
- Experience in college lacrosse coaching and recruiting.
- Experience and\/or demonstrated success in supervising young adults and managing programs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships. Must be flexible, collaborative and have a positive attitude.
- Ability to establish rapport quickly with students and their families, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Knowledgeable about the skills and tactics of the sport
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in basic data management systems, game film editing programs and basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel (by car, air, train or bus) domestically and internationally as needed.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings and other non-traditional schedules.

- Driver's license and clean driving record required.
