Provide instruction that covers an introduction to the basics of these renewable energy systems, design principles, and field techniques in all of the following areas: Photovoltaic Systems, Solar Thermal Systems, Geothermal Systems, Passive Building Design, and Weatherization. Students should be able to identify the major components and common installation or construction methods upon completion. Hands-on training or demonstration could be tied into the curriculum as a three-week timeline will allow and is relevant to the overall course learning objectives.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Building Construction or Science, and Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will all be considered along with a minimum of 8-10 years in the construction or energy industries and sound knowledge of renewable systems and design. Other combinations of professional licenses, certifications, education, and experience will be considered but the chosen candidate must have generally fluency and the ability to sufficiently instruct introductory principles and hand-on methods as applicable to the curriculum. Demonstrated professionalism and interpersonal skills in collaborating with colleagues and directing students are essential. Teaching experience is desired.

Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MSEA Adjunct Faculty Bargaining Unit.
