Dirigo FCU is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Chief Operations Officer in our Lewiston Office. We are seeking a self-motivated, career-minded professional to share our vision, passion, and ability for exceeding the expectations of our member-owners. As a member of the Dirigo Executive Team, you will principally serve as the organization’s operations leader, responsible for profitably managing, enhancing, and further developing all aspects of the credit union’s operational functions. This position will manage activity of the Deposit Operations Department, Call Center and Loan Operations Department to ensure the delivery of reliable, quality and timely service to the members of the credit union. This includes developing, executing and managing the operations strategy, directing team operations, mentoring staff, and effectively communicating vision and objectives both internally as well as with credit union members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs activities of the departments for which responsible, in accordance with Credit Union policy and objectives; ensures availability and development of competent, qualified personnel for key positions within the Credit Union.
Continually examines current business process and technology and make necessary changes so that best practices, policies and systems are in place.
Regularly observe activities and maintain a thorough and constant awareness of all issues and undertakings via meetings and individual accountability/reporting; provide constructive guidance, expediently resolve problems, and assist with unusual or difficult tasks or circumstances.
Ensures regulatory compliance with, and implementation of, approved policies and objectives.
Ensures sound services and working relationships with all Credit Union staff, regulatory entities, key staff of important vendors, with outside services, and with the public.
Assists the President in preparing short-term and long-range plans; establishes a budget of operations and ensures that budgeted goals are achieved, and cost objectives are met.
Develop, complete, and deliver reporting of operational metrics and performance analysis.
Manage Operations Building: staff, security, facility and equipment.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must exhibit exceptional communication skills with a strong internal and external member focus; demonstrated analytical thinker, independent but able to work in a team environment. Have a demonstrated expertise with deposit and loan operations compliance. Strong knowledge of banking IT, software and experience with banking core processing systems. Working knowledge of general regulatory rules impacting financial services industry (Truth in Lending/Savings, Equal Credit Opportunity, Electronic Funds, HMDA) also required.
