Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm, These positions will likely work until 6:00 one or two evenings a week.

The University of Maine Augustais seeking applicants for three new staff to fill the role of Coordinator of Student Success and Professional Guide.The primary purpose of these positions are to increase student success by providing students with clear pathways into the institution and by supporting students with academic guidance throughout their UMA tenure. These positions are funded in part (80%) with soft money that iscurrently available through 2020.

Each position has a different focus as follows:

Coordinator of First Year Experience

* Educate campus community to best practices for FYE programs.
* Work with College Deans, Academic Program Coordinators and Advising team to develop and implement First Year Experience (FYE) activities to fit specific program and student population needs.
* Provide academic advising to new and continuingUMAstudents, prospective students, non-degree students and other populations as assigned. Provide unofficial credit reviews for prospective transfer students.
Coordinator of Online New Student Orientation

* Oversee delivery of online New Student Orientation Program. Ensure technical functionality and accuracy of information.
* Continuously review and evaluate Online New Student Orientation design, content and data, making adjustments as needed.
* Provide academic advising to new and continuingUMAstudents, prospective students, non-degree students and other populations as assigned. Provide unofficial credit reviews for prospective transfer students.
Coordinator of Transfer Experience

* Educate campus community regarding best practices to support transfer and readmit students. Develop and implement activities to on-board transfer and readmit students.
* Operationalizeand continuously improve efforts to provide transfer and readmit students with individualized guides to efficient completion.
* Provide academic advising to new and continuingUMAstudents, prospective students, non-degree students and other populations as assigned. Provide unofficial credit reviews for prospective transfer students.

Qualifications
* Baccalaureate degree
* 3-5 years of relevant experience in higher education setting, including work with non-traditional students, first-generation college students, individuals with low income, under-prepared students and/or individuals with disabilities.
* Competency in academic advising.
* Familiarity with best practices in first to second year student retention.
* Familiarity with distance education delivery and learning management systems.
* Ability to effectively use social media tools.
* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including strong customer service and outreach skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and to prioritize
* Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
