Crisis Call Specialist
The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a full-time Crisis Call Specialist. In this role you will answer calls, determine the nature of the crisis, assess and triage the needs of the caller, and provide phone-based services to meet that need. You will provide phone support and linkage to other services needed to assure continued stabilization and resolution of the crisis experience. You will work with a team of trained crisis providers with around the clock clinical consultation and support to provide evidence-based approaches to crisis service. The Crisis Call Specialist will utilize telephonic and computer-based technology to manage rapid response to calls, provide telephone crisis intervention, connect callers to services, and create quality documentation that supports the service and stabilization planning for the caller.
This is a full time, hourly paid position based in Portland, ME. Flexibility with scheduling is required.
Bachelor's Degree required in the field of mental health, social work, or psychology; or a Bachelor's Degree related field, such as sociology or criminology, along with a year or more of crisis related experience.
Must be certified or eligible to become certified as a MHRT-CSP within 30 days. Training onsite provided.
Technical literacy, knowledge of DSM-V, solid oral and written communication, strong organizational skills.
Flexible schedule required.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the Internet required.
All candidates must pass an extensive criminal background check, child protective services and sex offender check and must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings but is not a primarily and essential job responsibility.
