Primary Purpose of Position:  The Data and Mortgage Specialist is part of the Homeownership team and serves as the conduit for data management for Emphasys Lender Online, AOD Loan Tracking, AOD Single Family and Mortgage related software applications. The position will also perform loan purchase reviews to ensure compliance with program regulations.

Education and Experience:  Associates degree in business or computer science and minimum of two to four years related experience in mortgage lending and database management or a combination of six years of experience and training.

Core Functions:

  • System administration and management of Emphasys Lender Online, AOD Loan Tracking and AOD Single Family software applications
    • Administer System user security profiles for Lender Online
    • Serve as Administrator of the Lender Online website including the Bulletin Board, Program Documents, marketing materials, PDF Forms, eDocs and system settings
    • Develop, format, update and distribute the electronic bulletin board, Procedural Guide, Forms, Info Sheets, Rate Sheet and Lender Notices
    • Monitor MaineHousing and Homeownership websites to ensure programmatic materials are consistently published and up to date on all websites 
    • Provide technical support and troubleshoot reservation system and purchase process issues
    • Conduct computer related training for Lenders and Homeownership staff.
    • Work with Emphasys on system issues and modifications
    • Act as a liaison with IT department to report and resolve network issues and to coordinate activities requiring IT support or approval
       
  • Develop, maintain and generate reports for production tracking, partner performance, and participant demographics
    • Prepare, update and design program presentations, procedural guides, and informational program materials
    • Prepare transfer reports for Loan Servicing and Treasurer’s office
    • Extract loan file documents from eDocs and prepare for submission to Sub-Servicer
    • Utilize Docuware Archive software to preserve programmatic data
    • Distribute Lender Performance Reports
    • Provide statistical data to Communications & Planning Department
    • Maintain Mortgage Purchase Agreement documentation

 

  • Full-file Compliance Review (Home Purchase Loans):
    • Perform full-file reviews for assigned lenders to ensure loans comply with agency policy, bond and regulatory compliance and credit quality
    • Identify non-complying loans, communicate deficiencies to the Lenders and assist in correction
    • Participate in Lean efforts for the full-file compliance review process; evaluate procedures and recommend improvements
    • Monitor loan pipeline and work with partners to facilitate loan delivery. Run, verify and distribute Loan Status reports to partners. Update system according to partner feedback
    • Serve as technical resource to lenders, real estate professionals and home buyers. 
    • Monitor receipt of final documents for assigned lenders and work with partners to facilitate delivery
       
  • Represent MaineHousing at outreach and training events
  • Serve as back up to Mortgage Lending Assistant
     

Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Strong computer skills using various software (Excel, Word, Mortgage related software applications)
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and summarize information and design reports
  • Experience in review and execution of mortgage loan documents
  • Technical writing experience desirable
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with business partners
  • Experience communicating effectively in front of groups
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, utilize creative and analytical skills to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated high-degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exhibit professional demeanor
