Crisis & Counseling Centers is an innovative and collaborative comprehensive behavioral health agency nearing its 50th year of operations in Central Maine. Currently, we are looking for a Director of Mobile Crisis Services. This position combines clinical work with leading a well-trained, qualified mobile crisis team. The qualified applicant should possess a combination of strong clinical and managerial skills, effective program development implementation, as well as, a passion for helping people with immediate behavioral health needs.

The main function of this position is to plan, develop and implement the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Crisis Program.  Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Building relationships with DHHS, local law enforcement, area schools and other agencies in the community to help manage the program.
  • Monitor existing contracts for the program to ensure implementation and compliance.
  • Assist with the development of new grant proposals.
  • Participate in screening, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of the Mobile Crisis program staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee the timely completion of all required clinical paperwork including clinical records.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of an annual public relations/marketing plan for the Mobile Crisis Program.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and revision of Crisis & Counseling Centers’ clinical standards, policies, procedures, forms, and the resources/referral database, with specific focus on mobile triage program.

Successful candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Master's degree or greater in a social services or related field.
  • Additional clinical and/or supervisory credentialing prioritized.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders environment preferred. Previous supervisory and crisis services experience preferred
  • Current or eligible State of Maine, independent behavioral health licensure (LCSW, LCPC, etc.).
  • Strong clinical, team building and collaborative skills that can effectively respond to a wide range of clinical situations.
  • Proven ability to work within multi-system team is required, fostering partnerships and effectively maintaining stakeholder networks across diverse systems.

To accomplish the duties of this position, it is expected this position will work 40 or more hours per week.  Generally 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or as needed.  Flexibility for both evening and weekend work is required. This is an Exempt position at the professional level.

Salary range:

$56,000 to $63,000 per year DOE

The Mobile Crisis Services Director will be based out of our Augusta location.

Crisis & Counseling Centers has seven locations within central Maine. We provide 24/7 crisis services for Kennebec and Somerset counties in collaboration with local law enforcement, hospitals and the state-wide crisis service network.
