Primary Purpose of Position:  The HCV Intake Assistant is responsible for assisting with the various tasks associated with the HCV Program.
Education /Experience:  Associates degree and a minimum of two years relevant work experience or a combination of four years education and training preferred.  Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) Training (or within 6 month of hire)
Core Functions:

  • Assist in the administration of the HCV Program
    • Answer incoming client calls
    • Process applications in the Elite database
  • Offer vouchers to eligible participants as funding permits
    • Process personal declaration and verify income and expenses
    • Obtain signatures on appropriate documents
    • Schedule and conduct briefings
    • Issue voucher
  • Recertify participating tenants
    • Process personal declaration
    • Obtain signatures on documents
    • Notify tenants and landlords on new payment
  • Support the HCV team
    • Assist in meeting preparations to include calendar scheduling, note taking, and distribution of meeting minutes
    • Make travel arrangements
    • Produce check requests and purchase orders
    • Perform certified, restricted, and UPS mailings
    • File and scan documents
  • Assist in the Family Unification and Veteran Affairs Supporting Housing (VASH) Programs application process
    • Review incoming application packets for accuracy and completeness
    • Set up file folders
    • Set up eligibility or ineligibility correspondence for signature and distribution
    • Enter applications into “Wait List) maintained in Excel
  • Attend related seminars, workshops, and trainings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
