The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for a half-time, one year appointment within Division of Community Health Education, Recreation & Rehabilitation Services.

The Division of Community Health Education, Recreation & Rehabilitation Services invites applications for a half-time, one year position in Community Health Education at the rank of Instructor.

Expectations: The Division of Community Health Education, Recreation & Rehabilitation Services is a collaborative program in search of a faculty member who shares our commitment to student field placement and passionate teaching in the discipline of Community Health Education. We specifically align our major with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Professional Responsibilities and Competencies required as an entry level Community Health Education/Health Promotion Specialist. The core courses are Disease Prevention and Health Promotion; Health Communications and Theory; Resource Management and Grants; Health Education Planning, and Epidemiology. Areas of teaching will include Nutrition Education and Internship Supervision. Faculty will teach one or more health education electives. Teaching load will be 6 academic credits per semester. Faculty will be required to be on campus depending on teaching schedule and internship needs.

Qualifications:

Required: An earned master's degree in health education or a closely related field. Candidate should have expertise in the areas of nutrition and physical activity.

Preferred: A doctorate degree in health education or a closely related field. Experience in teaching and community health education a plus.
