Primary Purpose of Position:  The Investor Reporting Specialist is responsible for administering financial servicing functions and loan purchasing for MaineHousing’s single-family loan portfolio.  This position also performs financial functions for the home improvement and multifamily portfolios, prepares technical reports, provides assistance to the servicing operations manager, and serves as a single-family loan servicing resource.
Education /Experience:  Associates degree in business, accounting or related field, and two years relevant work experience or a combination of four years education and training preferred.
Core Tasks:

  • Single-family Activity Reconciliation
    • Load servicer electronic reporting to AOD system
    • Amortize borrower loan payments by Bond Series; analyze and research any variances
    • Reconcile cash remitted to monthly billing for each servicer by Bond Series
    • Work with servicers to resolve discrepancies; evaluate each servicers reporting
    • Generate pre-interface reporting
    • Produce and forward monthly bills to servicers
  • Single-family Cash Receipts
    • Review and confirm receipts wired from services to remittance reports
    • Post principal and interest receipts wired from services to AOD system
    • Work with servicers to correct cash receipt errors
    • Review and confirm cash receipts from third parties
    • Initiate appropriate application or disbursement of cash receipts from third parties
  • Single-family and Home Repair Loan Purchases
    • Verify accuracy of purchase data transmitted from production departments
    • Enter servicing loan data on AOD system
    • Produce and verify wire transfer reports
    • Prepare and transmit electronic transfer of purchase information to Master Servicer
    • Communicate purchase information to originators and servicers
    • Produce, verify, and distribute purchase reports to applicable parties
    • Work with Homeownership Department, originators and servicers to resolve loan discrepancies
  • Mortgage Purchase Program and General Fund Cash Transfer
    • Produce cash transfer reports; verify to cash receipts and application of principal and interest
    • Complete MPP cash transfer report and forward to the Treasury Department
  • Provide Technical Assistance to Servicers
    • Assist servicers in resolving unusual or non-compliance issues
  • Prepare various Month-end Reports for Single-family Loan Portfolio
    • Run statistical reports for delinquency, foreclosure, mobile home and other information
    • Analyze information and distribute to applicable MaineHousing staff
  • Maintain and Administer Single-family Loan Servicing Policies and Procedures
    • Update the procedural guide when necessary
    • Assist servicers in understanding and adhering to servicing requirements
    • Complete servicer evaluation worksheets monthly
  • Multifamily Loan Payment Receipts
    • Collect multifamily payments at the post office and prepare payments for deposit
    • Process the payments, complete deposit ticket, and deposit payments
    • Post multifamily payments, set up new loans, and assist with the portfolio as needed
  • REO/Foreclosure Receipts
    • Log cash receipts to a suspense report
    • Research payments and pull applicable files
    • Calculate and analyze mortgage insurance claim payments and sales proceeds
    • Post payments to AOD system
    • Generate disbursement memos and complete the deposit receipt
  • Other duties as assigned
    Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience with financial reconciliation and preparing detailed reports
  • Experience with automated loan servicing systems
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and loan servicing procedures and methodology
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions
  • Ability to proofread, edit, and make grammatical corrections

The starting hourly rate for this position is $15.6850, plus a great benefits package!
