Parks & Facilities Manager (Parks & Recreation Department)

This is a key management position with responsibility for coordinating and directing the Town's maintenance personnel towards the goal of providing orderly and safe parks/recreation facilities for the public’s enjoyment. Tasks include the direction of staff in the maintenance, custodial, repair and construction of the Town’s parks, athletic complexes, and recreation facilities. As the Town Arborist, this position will also be responsible for directing a comprehensive tree care program for the Town’s street and park trees.
Requirements: Duties require considerable knowledge of park administration, landscape architecture, horticulture, facilities maintenance/methods and construction or related field of study equivalent to the completion of a four (4)-year college degree and at least five (5) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Familiarity with municipal parks and recreation helpful. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. Arborist experience preferred. The full salary range for this position is $49,336 to $67,519. The starting salary will be DOE and budgetary allowances.
