Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist


Use the knowledge gained through your own recovery process to provide patient, caring, and compassionate services to our consumers. As a Peer Support Specialist you will help consumers though connections that:

Build knowledge and skills

Model relationship building, respect, trust and sensitivity

Share experience to offer hope and reassurance

Link to community and natural supports

Challenge them to live independently through recovery

The Behavioral Health Homes model is a team approach to integrating care across all aspects of physical and mental health. The Peer Support Specialist will work with a Clinical Supervisor, Nurse Care Manager, Psychiatric provider, and a Health Home Coordinator to support the success of our consumers in leading a self-directed life and reaching their full potential. Through the use of a shared Electronic Health Record; participation in team meetings and case reviews; inter-agency and intra-agency meetings; and group and individual supervision, the Peer Support Specialist offers hope through sharing their own recovery journey.

High School Diploma/GED, computer proficiency, valid driver’s license and knowledge of and direct experience with mental health services as a self-identified mental health consumer are required.
Volunteer experience at a Peer Center, Peer Support 101 training, provisional

CIPSS certificate and/or work experience as a Peer Support Specialist preferred.
