Quality Technician - 2nd Shift

JOB PURPOSE:

Audit processes, products, and systems to ensure compliance with quality standards

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Identify product to be audited
  • Perform inspection audits on systems, processes and products; set up gages; accurately measure and report results
  • Conduct Cleanliness checks in the Met Lab as needed
  • Complete layouts prior to production and annually
  • Review paperwork and statistical data for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain and update quality documents
  • Assist manufacturing with problem resolution and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with others to determine product disposition based on audit results
  • Conduct peer reviews on Final Documentation
  • Maintain customer and supplier logs and inspection information
  • Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards for self, work area, and equipment
  • Train and mentor less experienced co-workers
  • Issue certificates of compliance or customer-generated reports when requested
     
    ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enter data into and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCR’s), verify that corrective action has been completed
  • Pack and label parts for shipment
  • Train other employees on proper gage usage
  • Occasionally respond to quality-related customer inquiries
  • Assist engineers with data collection on continuous improvement projects
  • Participate in cross-functional or project teams
  • Perform all other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Special knowledge, capabilities, qualifications:

  • Certification in mechanical inspection, quality technician, or quality auditing preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail
  • Proficiency in precision gage usage and measurement techniques
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Strong math skills, understanding of statistics (SPC) and metrics; ability to read blueprints and process sheets
  • Basic computer skills:  Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint)
  • Verbal and written communication skills, understanding of relevant terminology
