Baker is seeking a Service Technician to provide technical assistance to external customers, product end users, certifiers, lab technicians, lab managers, safety officers, and prospective customers by answering complex technical questions. Service Technicians perform preventative maintenance, set-ups and testing on Baker products and conduct technical training and monitor equipment functionality. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability working with customers, service technicians, technical service representatives, and 3rd party service providers. 


  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and helpful manner
  • Diagnose and/or trouble shoot Baker products 
  • Log call data/info into Case Call system
  • Resolve cases in a timely manner
  • Maintain open/closed case calls
  • Respond to customer or field technicians questions in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with appropriate plant personnel to respond to customer inquiries
  • Provide Test Reports and Test Data
  • Review Operators Manuals and provide input or changes
  • Write and offer input for infield installation instructions and troubleshooting guide
  • Assist writing trouble shooting guides for service groups
  • Conduct field repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all types of Baker products
  • Conduct setup, testing and train end users on Baker products
  • Help and assist in new product development. ( design, wire, build and test)
  • Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste


  • Must be able to lift materials and parts weighing between 30-40 lbs occasionally (10%-20% of the time)
  • Able to move units around with a pallet jack weighing 400-600 lbs
  • Must be able to talk on the phone and work on the computer for extended periods


  • Working knowledge of construction/installation, uses, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high energy level, ambition, and demonstrated ability to solve problems.
  • Experience working with customers and third party relationships
  • Ability to multitask
  • Minimum Education Requirements - Associates or Technical Degree
  • Some Travel required (25%)
